Our History
Tim Jordan's Truck Parts, Inc. emerged from humble beginnings. Tim started selling truck parts off the back of a pickup truck, but now operates one of the largest truck salvage yards in the nation, along with a used truck and trailer dealership, a truck repair shop, a transmission & differential shop, and a new parts store - all spread out on 130 plus acres!Texan, Born and Raised
Tim grew up with six siblings in a bustling household of humble means in the once rural community of Crandall, Texas. At the age of 20, while visiting his mother who managed Gordon's Jewelers off Buckner Boulevard in southeast Dallas, Tim met a young employee who would become the love of his life, Donna. Though Tim worked hard, money was so tight that he had to borrow money from his stepfather to pay for a marriage license.
For several years the newlyweds struggled, but with Donna by his side, Tim's entrepreneurial spirit picked up momentum and began to shine. In the late eighties Tim started his business by picking up junk batteries to sell to scrap yards, which eventually led to selling truck parts off the back of his old Chevy pickup. As business grew, he was able to afford a cab-over semi-truck. Eventually a friend gave Tim the opportunity to sell some of his unwanted trucks, and since then Tim has forged a growing presence in the truck salvage industry.
"If You Ain't the Lead Dog, the Scenery Never Changes"
Tim's hard work ethic is partially inspired by a wooden plaque that his mother gave him many years ago that still hangs in the office. The plaque humorously displays an ink drawing of 4 dogs pulling a whip-wielding man on a sled, captioned with the phrase, "If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes." With an unwavering sense of fortitude, integrity, and admirable gift for expressing unabashed honesty that allows him to "tell it like it is," and "get the truth out in the open," Tim aspires to do whatever it takes to ensure he is always the lead dog, and to keep that scenery changing.Family Values and Happy Customers
After 30 years in the business, Tim knows that a business owner lives in his work and can be the hardest job to have; but it also is the most rewarding. Tim's goals, vision, gregarious spirit, and perpetual optimism have helped him navigate through the ups and downs of the economy and grow the business, all while still maintaining a firm belief in family values and keeping customers happy. Tim also credits his close friends, mentors, confidants, and fellow businessmen, Bradley Ough and the late Joe Perkins, for making him a better person. Consequently, Tim has built a team of dedicated employees who are like an extended family. He instills his employees with a hard and honest work ethic and a sense of accountability that will endure through their lifetimes.Focused on Friendly, Honest Service
Over the years, his commitment to providing a good customer experience has allowed his business to grow through positive word-of-mouth referrals, and fairly minimal advertising. Tim's son Chase will someday take the reins; however, Tim has no plans on retiring soon, and remains hands-on with virtually every aspect of the company, from doing gritty yard work to managing the business.
Tim remains humble, occasionally pondering what more could he have accomplished if he had not quit school after the tenth grade; but to his employees, Tim's insightful business savvy, integrity, and big heart with a proclivity for "truth-telling," have made him one of the most influential and inspiring teachers they ever had. Even when Tim is not working at his company, he rests by working on his farm; but more than anything else, Tim values spending time with his family the most: especially his grandchildren. As such, Tim Jordan's Truck Parts, Inc. remains a family business focused on providing you with the friendliest and unabashedly honest service around.
